The whole Account panel, top to bottom. Your sign-in address is shown but cannot be edited here. The first and last name is what shared tasks are matched against; everything below it — the alternate address, where notifications go, the mobile number — is optional. Change password… opens a card of its own. One Save covers the whole panel.

Who you are signed in as

Your initials are at the top right of every page. They are the link — hover them and they name you, press them for a short menu, and choose Profile & account to open your profile: first and last name, an optional alternate email, where your notification email goes, an optional mobile number, and the button that changes your password.

It is there because your name is not decoration. It is what shared tasks are matched against, so if it reads as your email address rather than your name, that is the reason team tasks are not appearing — press it and fill in your first and last name.

The same menu holds My settings, Help, the Admin console if you administer the application or hold God Mode, and Sign out. If you belong to an organization and you are its owner, a super team admin or a team admin, it also offers Configure team…, directly under My settings, which opens Team settings on its Team tab; otherwise it is not there at all. Both rows are decided by your role and your organization, never by which page you are standing on — you will find the same two, or the same absence, on Tasks, Notes, Calendar, Team and the OKR board alike. A page with settings of its own adds a named line of its own beneath those — on the OKR board it is OKR settings. There is no separate settings cog anywhere in the bar — this menu is where settings live, and it is the same menu on every page. The row reads My settings rather than plain Settings on purpose: several pages have settings of their own, and the possessive is what tells you this one is yours. At the foot of it sits the company line and, beneath that, when the app was last updated — that date is the application's own code, not your data, which is why it does not move when you save something. That line is on every page of the suite now, the OKR page included.

The control is the same at every window width, because it is an icon rather than a word — there is no name to cap or drop. Hovering it still names you, and a screen reader still reads your name, at every width.

Your profile opens the same way on every page, including OKRs. It is one profile, one save, wherever you open it from.

Your name decides which shared tasks you see

A task from a team board appears on your personal list when its owner or assignee matches your first and last name exactly. "Kate R" does not match "Kate Ross". If shared tasks are not appearing where you expect, check the spelling here first.

Just to the left of your initials sit the theme buttons and Refresh. The theme is a group of buttons rather than one that toggles: Dark theme, Light theme, and Custom theme — your own color, which appears wherever there is a custom color to show: one you have saved yourself, or your team's default beneath it. The one that looks pressed is the theme you are in, not the one you would switch to. Which of the three you are looking at is remembered per browser; the color itself is saved on your account, so it is there on every machine you sign in on. Setting one is in Settings → Workspace → Appearance. Sign out is inside the menu under your name, not out here.

The menu under your name

Your initials are the last control in the bar, and pressing them is how you reach everything about your account. There is no separate cog: My settings is in here.

The menu, with every row it can have. Configure team… appears only if you belong to an organization and administer a team within it — as its owner, a super team admin or a team admin — and Admin console only if you administer the application or hold God Mode; most accounts see neither. Help opens this manual in a new tab. The date at the foot is when this copy of the application was last updated, not when your work was.

Your Organization Token, and joining or leaving an Organization

An Organization Token is the invitation code an Organization sends when it invites you to join. If a colleague's invitation reached you before you had an account, Create Account offers an optional Organization Token field — enter it there and your new account is linked to that invitation immediately. It is genuinely optional: an invalid, expired or missing token never stops an account being created. You end up with a normal STRIDE account either way, free to join or create an Organization afterwards.

If you already have an account, or you left the field blank, the invitation is not lost. A pending invitation to your email address shows up in your Messages the same way a comment or mention would, headed by the inviting Organization's name. From there you can Copy token to grab the code itself, or simply accept the invitation directly from the card — you do not have to type the token back in anywhere to join.

If it says the token has expired

The invitation itself is still open; only the credential timed out. A Regenerate token button replaces it with a fresh one on the very same invitation — nobody has to be invited a second time, and the old code stops working the moment the new one is issued.

Only you, the invited recipient, can ever see or copy your own token — not another member of your team, and not an administrator browsing on your behalf. That is also why the Copy button only ever copies a token it has actually loaded: this is the one value in the product you cannot simply retype from memory if a copy silently failed.

Your current Organization, if you have one, is shown on the Organization tab of My settings — your own membership in it, your role, and Leave Organization if you want out. Leaving asks you to confirm, explains what you will lose access to, and preserves anything that is genuinely yours rather than the Organization's. Being the only administrator holding one of its Teams no longer stops you — the Organization Owner takes over administering that Team the moment you leave, so it is never left without one. If you are the only administrator holding one of its Boards, though, leaving is still blocked until you hand that off to somebody else first — the same kind of protection that keeps a team from losing its last Super Team Admin with nobody to fall back on.

Changing your password

In Account, under Security, press Change password…. You do not need your current password — instead we email you a code, so that changing it takes more than someone finding your screen unlocked.

  1. Press Send verification code. An 8-digit code goes to your sign-in address — always that one, never an alternate address you have added for notifications.
  2. Type the code in. It expires in an hour. If it has not arrived, check spam, then use Resend code — it waits a few seconds between sends on purpose.
  3. Choose the new password twice. The list underneath shows what your organization requires and ticks each line as you satisfy it, so you can see what is left rather than guessing from a rejection.
  4. Press Change password.

You stay signed in on this device, and your old password stops working immediately. Any other device signed in to your account is signed out and will need the new password — which is the point of changing it.

If the code is refused

“Not valid or has expired” covers all three of mistyped, too old, and already used — we cannot tell them apart, so we do not guess. Ask for a new code and try again. Asking for a new code makes the previous one stop working.

This is not the same thing as Forgot password? on the sign-in page, which is for when you cannot get in at all. Both send mail through the sign-in system, so they keep working no matter what you or your team have set for notification email.

Which address gets your notifications

In Account, under Notification email, you choose which teams' notifications go to which of your addresses. Each address can be set to All teams, selected teams, or no email.

All teams keeps working when you join a new one — there is nothing to come back and update. Selected teams means exactly those, so a new team is not swept in.

If you put the same team on both addresses, both get a copy. That is allowed on purpose, and the panel says so, because it doubles what arrives. If both addresses are the same, you get one email.

An alternate address has to be confirmed first. Enter it, press Send a code, and type the six digits that arrive there — receiving the code is what proves the address is yours. Until then nothing is sent to it. Changing the address means confirming it again.

This only affects notification email. Signing in and password resets always go to your sign-in address, whatever you choose here.

This decides where, never whether. Which events are worth an email at all is a different setting, in Tasks — see choosing what emails you. Naming a team here does not turn any event on.

Notifications that belong to no team

The two blocks above route by team, and some of what the product sends you belongs to no team at all — a task somebody assigns straight to you outside a board, a comment mentioning you on one, an update to a task you are watching, a reminder on your own work, a note shared with you. There is no team to name, so those settings cannot route them.

Anything with no team, underneath the two addresses, is where those go. Leave it on Use the rules above and they arrive at your sign-in address, which is what has always happened. Choose Sign-in address or Alternate address and every one of them follows that choice instead.

Anything on a board still follows its team — this setting never overrides the two above it, it only answers the question they cannot.

You cannot lose mail here

If you pick the alternate address and it is not confirmed yet, these notifications keep going to your sign-in address rather than going nowhere. The panel says so next to the control.

Invitations are the exception, and deliberately. An invitation to a team or an organization goes to the address it was sent to — whoever invited you typed it, and you may not have an account yet for this setting to be read from.

The phone view and the admin console

Two parts of the product have manuals of their own, because what you need to know about them barely overlaps with what is above.
